Japan is a wonderful country, where modernity and ancient culture live very closely, without sometimes merging in a perfect way.

The individual and the megalopolis, religion and materiality, new and old build together the original portrait of this land. Black and white images are unable to represent the strong colors of Japan, but can help to describe better it's many contrasts and contradictions.
I shot these pictures during a 2 week vacation in Japan. Of course a deeper study would take a much longer time, but I hope that this small gallery will satisfy the interest and curiosity of all those in search of images from this beautiful country.
As with my other photographic galleries, all pictures you see here were shot with a Canon Digital Rebel (300D) and several lenses including Canon 50mm f/1.4 and Canon 16-35mm f/2.8-L.
